Gil Rodriguez had a hole-in-one March 23, 2020 on hole 7 at Mount Vintage - Chester Course in North Augusta, SC.
He used a 7 Iron on the 147 yard par 3 hole.
Witnesses to his great achievement were Jake Johnson , Chuck Arnold and Chris Taylor.
We play a monthly tournament in and around the Augusta GA area, Mount Vintage was the next one on the schedule. I arrived on the Chester Course #7 and the yardage to the pin was 147 from the White tees. I pulled out my 7i, a Taylormade M2 , and hit a shot that tracked to the pin, from the tee box the ball hit just in front of the forward placed pin and rolled toward it. The ball did not disappear and I commented to the group that I hadn't gotten a hole in one in the 15 years I have been playing. We got to the green and I pulled out my putter to tap in the easy birdie but then I see that the ball did not disappear because it was sitting on the Styrofoam piece that was placed in the cups to prevent the golfers from touching the cup to retrieve the ball. Hold in one!!.
